$1,929 Social Security Payments for Retirees Aged 67 to Be Sent in 3 Days

Seniors aged 67 and older, as well as retirees of various age groups, can expect two remaining Social Security payments this March. As of December 2024, the average payment for both men and women receiving retirement benefits is $1,929.

This amount could be expected on March 19, though not all retirees will qualify to receive this payment. Let’s break down the eligibility and payment details.

Who Can Expect Social Security Payments in 3 Days?

To receive a Social Security payment on March 19, your birthday must fall between the 11th and 20th of any month. The exact month or year of birth does not matter, provided you started receiving retirement benefits after April 30, 1997.

However, retirees aged 67 who started receiving benefits before May 1997 will receive their next payment on April 3, 2025. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will also have their payments sent on April 3, 2025.

Payment Schedule for March 2025

The last Social Security payment for March will be distributed on March 26 for retirees aged 62 or older born between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Is $1,929 the Maximum Social Security Benefit for 67-Year-Olds?

No, $1,929 is not the highest possible Social Security benefit. Retirees filing at Full Retirement Age (FRA) can receive up to $4,018 in payments on either March 19 or March 26, depending on their birthday.

However, this higher amount comes with specific requirements. To qualify for $4,018, individuals must have worked in covered employment for 35 years, earning the taxable maximum each year. Retirees who file at Full Retirement Age (FRA) will receive 100% of their benefits.

If you delay filing until age 70, you may be eligible for higher benefits, but those who file at FRA will not receive any extra money beyond the standard amount.

Lower Benefits for Some Retirees

Many retirees who are 67 years old may qualify for lower Social Security payments in 2025. If you or someone you know is in this situation, consider applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.

SSI is a federal program designed to assist individuals aged 65 and older who have low income and limited resources. This benefit can help enhance financial stability.

  5. I worked my entire life staring at age 15 in 1964. I stopped working in November, 2011 due to a stroke.
I have read/ seen notices about presenting myself in person to verify who I am at a Social Security office.. you plan to shut most of them down?? I am handicapped both physically and mentally due to my stroke. How do you propose that I head to the nearest SS office, which God knows where that office will be? I can understand fraud but it’s not my fault and I do not appreciate inconvenience me because of it! I worked very hard, paid my taxes, my entire working life. I’m on social security benefits and I would be out on the street without it.Literally…
