SSI is income based so if your Social Security benefit is less than the SSI individual amount you receive the difference between the two in SSI to bring your income up to the SSI individual rate.

Pulmonary Fibrosis, probably won’t live to see 67 when I could have started reg SS, my meds are about $ 500 a month, SS insurance and the supplements I need are $450 a month. We’re old & in our Golden years, let’s enjoy them & a better quality of life without complaints which only add to health issues & more medical bills , which in turn less money to live on the rest of our life however much that is! Think positive thoughts ! God will provide! Let’s not imagine the worst case scenario cause we don’t know that bridge yet! So positive thoughts only! God’s blessings & a happy life for you!
This change needs to be reviewed by the court. I have paid into Social Security since I was kid. I am now 80! I never thought that my Country would breach their agreement with their citizens just to please the wealthy. Shameful if you ask me.
If the SSA is handling payments with a manual system, with an office staff located in a mine in Pensilvania, probably using a computerized system should be more efficient and quicker, there’s no reason to use non productive stuffers!
